Trauma Reprocessing Groups

In times of crisis, communities experience not only shared trauma, but also a profound need for connection, safety, and recovery. G-TEP EMDR (Group Traumatic Episode Protocol) groups offer an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach to help individuals process distressing experiences in a safe, structured group setting.

This offering is available for communities, organizations, families, friends, and couples. Examples of reasons to host a G-TEP group include responding to:

  • natural disasters

  • vicarious trauma from working in a helping profession or social organizing

  • community violence (i.e., ICE raids, police violence, shootings)

  • the aftermath of a crisis or conflict (i.e., death, infidelity, job loss, displacement)
